How Victorian Style Doors Are Made
Every door starts with a frame of Grade A pine, 70mm wide and 27mm thick. The frame is joined with scribe joints, glued and assembled so the joint itself carries more strength than the wood alone. Victorian style moulding is then fitted to a recessed panel, built from individual pine lengths 12mm thick and 50mm wide, glued together and rebated at the back to sit inside the frame.
Each door is assembled square, sanded, and finished with the moulding secured into the frame, ready for you to stain, paint or leave natural.
